Oh, the promise of the quick fix is such an alluring thought.

I have piles of super, crazy, instant glue. You know, the stuff that allows you to hang from a steel girder while wearing a hard hat. I am always hopeful these will work, but I have never been satisfied at all.
However, the Billy Mays TV commercial where he yells at me for 30 seconds about mighty putty looks promising.
Duct Tape:
Many of us carry duct tape in our vehicles for the quick fix of a ruptured hose. Duct tape does

My son was moving a ladder that had been against the house and busted a storm window in the process. The quick fix was a square of heavy plastic applied with duct tape. It served it’s purpose for a time, but then it need replaced. Instead of fixing the window, you guessed it, another square of plastic applied with duct tape. As good as new? No. Never!
The reality in life is that there are rarely, if any, quick fixes.
How often do we see people applying the quick fix and expecting lasting results?
A temporary solution to a lasting problem will never do.

More talking does not fix a lack of action.
For Christians, assembly attendance alone does not fix a lack of relationship with Christ.
Divorce does not fix a lack of communication with your spouse.
I’m sure you can think of may other examples.
The quick fix will not solve the problem, it only prolongs and often compounds it.
May we never think that a quick fix is the best way in the long run of life.
Take the time to examine the problem.
Take the time to learn what you should do.
Take the time to apply what you have learned.
Take the time to fix it right the first time.
