Grace is Good!

In Col 1:3-6 Paul says.....

In our prayers for you we always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, for we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love that you have for all the saints, because of the hope laid up for you in heaven. You have heard of this hope before in the word of the truth, the gospel that has come to you. Just as it is bearing fruit and growing in the whole world, so it has been bearing fruit among yourselves from the day you heard it and truly comprehended the grace of God. (NRSV)

It's important to see the statement that they "truly comprehended the grace of God"! His grace will leave us in awe of him. After years of being a Christian I think I'm just beginning to comprehend it. It is vital that we see the grace of God through Jesus. It will humble us and help us realize the love of God. We can't earn our way to Heaven. The fact that he went to the cross willingly is powerful. He chose to lay down his life [John 10:17-18]. We were and are helpless to save ourselves.
A good friend of mine said she saw the following bumper sticker on a car the other day....Christ died for you so He wouldn't have to live without you! I like that. Grace is good!
