I've recently been involved in studying and teaching on prayer, quite possibly the area most lacking in every Christian's spiritual life. I have no survey data just lots of voluntary verbal admissions from most every Christian I know. Maybe this is not true for you. However, if it is there is good news!

The disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray (Luke 11:1af). I'm so glad they did this. Sometimes you just have to ask. One of the things I see in this is that prayer apparently doesn't come naturally. It is obviously something that needs to be taught and learned. What a great teacher! I'm sure we all want a powerful effective prayer life (James 5:16 b). The connection Jesus had with Father while he was here on earth was very strong. We see him maintaining that relationship or connection with the Father throughout Matthew, Mark, Luke, & John.
Our faith level drives our prayer life. If we don't believe He can or will respond to our pleas why offer them? Jesus had faith in the Father. This is what we need.
First of all check your faith level in the Father. Learn that he is faithful. Check out his word. Spend time learning what Jesus already knew about the Father. Set aside all preconceived ideas and notions and get to know him.
More later........
Have A Great Day!
