I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." John 13:34-35 (NRSV)

This is too simple isn't it? I think we tend to make things more complex than they really are. Although this is simple, it isn't easy.

God doesn't leave us without example....as I have loved you.

He even gives a list:

1 Cor 13:4-7 (NIV)

Love is patient.............................................am I patient?

Love is kind..................................................am I kind?

Love does not envy.....................................do I envy?

Love does not boast....................................do I boast?

Love is not proud........................................am I proud?

Love is not rude..........................................am I rude?

Love is not self-seeking.............................am I self-seeking?

Love is not easily angered.........................am I easily angered?

Love keeps no record of wrongs...............do I keep a record of wrongs?

Love does not delight in evil......................do I delight in evil?

Love rejoices with the truth......................do I rejoice with the truth?

Love always protects..................................do I protect?

Love always trusts......................................do I always trust?

Love always hopes......................................do I always hope?

Love always perseveres, do I always persevere?

Signage is not the most important advertisement for the Church....Love is! By it everyone will know. His words not mine.

Try living this 1 Cor. 13:4-7 model in your life. If we all determine to "Do Something" with this, it will show our discipleship to the world. It's even better than wearing a cross or having a fish symbol on your bumper. WWJD? Let's follow His example. Simple, but not easy.
