Just A Little Question

After last Sunday's assembly a little Kindergartner came running up to me and asked "what does Amen mean?" I knelt down and she sat on my knee as I explained to her that it was just a way of saying you agree with what's been said. I used it in a sentence for her and asked her if she understood. She hugged my neck and said "yep, thank you!" and then ran off to play with the other kids.

And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 18:3

I love how Jesus just states it plainly. A person would have to have help to misunderstand it, I think.

Why do we adults have so much trouble asking for help from one another and from God?

He uses the "C" word! Unless we change and become like little children......... Are you kidding me? I have maturity and education and...............

I loved that moment when a little child didn't know something and wasn't afraid to ask.

Just look at verse 4.

Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Pride will prevent so much! It prevents understanding and true spiritual growth. It even prevents spiritual healing from repetitive sin. It stands in our way blocking what God so freely wants us to give us. It can even block you from Heaven.

Unless we change and become like little children. Too simplistic? Try it and see!

Have no fear.....be humble!
