Something I'm Learning

Are any among you suffering? They should pray. James 5:13 (NRSV)

This sounds so simple doesn't it? This reaction to suffering should be a faith response. It is something we must learn to do. As our faith in Him increases our immediate response is to pray.

If our first thought at the sign of suffering is to worry or to try to figure a way out, it reveals we still have some work to do in the area of trusting Him. I believe that God is trying to help us understand that our first thought should be to turn to Him.

Why do our children immediately turn to us at the first sign of trouble? They place trust in us. They know we can and will help. They've experienced it in the past and have learned to trust.

Worry can't change it or help us through it....God can!
