The Power of Isolation!

One of Satan's most powerful tools is isolation. He can't force you to do anything, but he offers this bait.... "I must be the only one struggling with ______." Have you ever felt this way? If I tell someone I run the risk of being viewed as odd and different...you know, unlike everyone else. No one around me seems to be struggling with anything! This turns into further isolation. So, I tell no one and he wins the battle. It doesn't have to be like this.

Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective.
James 5:16 (NRSV)
My friends, if anyone is detected in a transgression, you who have received the Spirit should restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness. Take care that you yourselves are not tempted. Bear one another's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
Gal 6:1-2 (NRSV)
The rationalizations to not confess or bear one anothers burdens are limitless. We can find all sorts of excuses. The scripture still stands. No confession......no healing. No bearing of burdens.......no restoration. The Christian life was never intended to be lived alone. We need one another. When you're beginning to feel isolated....stay connected to the body. I do recommend that you be accountable to a member of the same sex and that the Christian demonstrates righteousness.
For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. 13 For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one body--Jews or Greeks, slaves or free--and we were all made to drink of one Spirit. 14 Indeed, the body does not consist of one member but of many. 15 If the foot would say, "Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body," that would not make it any less a part of the body. 16 And if the ear would say, "Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body," that would not make it any less a part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole body were hearing, where would the sense of smell be? 18 But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose. 19 If all were a single member, where would the body be? 20 As it is, there are many members, yet one body. 21 The eye cannot say to the hand, "I have no need of you," nor again the head to the feet, "I have no need of you."
1 Cor 12:12-21 (NRSV)
