"I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more." Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin. Therefore, my friends, since we have confidence to enter the sanctuary by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain (that is, through his flesh), and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us approach with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who has promised is faithful.

Heb 10:17-23 (NRSV)

Do you have confidence?
Do you have a heart filled with the assurance of faith?
He who has promised is faithful.
So, the question I want to ask is this, how many times do we need to ask forgiveness for the sin be forgiven? Once. Remember He is faithful. Do you ever get caught up in the cycle of asking forgiveness for a single sin (event) multiple times?
I used to bring up old sins and ask one more time for them to be forgiven. I've come to realize that this is not operating from faith at all, but from my own ability to recall those events and feel guilt all over again. Do you think that Peter ever recalled the event of denying Jesus x3 without feeling the guilt?
The lie is that if you can recall the sin event and it triggers guilt then it wasn't truly forgiven in the first place. Who do we know to be the father of Lies?
It's time that we have faith and take God at His word! Getting sidelined with "forgiven" sin renders us useless to God because we are focused on the past and not our purpose.
Isn't it freeing to know that He is faithful and we can be forgiven through Christ!
Have confidence...live your faith!
